Broadband Connections Map

Thirty-three (33) of Kansas’ 364 public library buildings have Internet connections below 1.5 Mbps.  The FCC has defined 4 Mbps as “Basic Broadband” for residential customers; 219 Kansas libraries do not have connection speeds at or above this 4 Mbps threshold.  The National Broadband Plan has stated a goal of 1 Gbps (1,000 Mbps) connection speed for libraries and other anchor institutions.
